Sugbu Experience

Hey guys! Finally, i found the perfect timing to write this post. So i will dedicate this post to my Cebu Trip last November 21-26. As you can see on my title I placed the word “Sugbu”. According to our tour guide the word “Sugbu” is the Cebuano term for “Cebu”, just sharing :) .

Anyways  the trip from Davao – Bukidnon – Cagayan de Oro was very long! I did not expect it to be like that, we left Davao at 9 in the morning and arrived at CDO by 6pm i guess we were just excited to see Cebu that we got impatient during the travel. By the way a total of 60 or more students participated in this trip, a total of 3 buses (ME, ECE, EE and Geology students) its one of the requirements for graduation.

We stayed at Crown Regency Hotel in Guadalupe, ate our breakfast, lunch and dinner on amazing restaurants (buffet). I would like to acknowledge “Golden Courie” for their hospitality and really great food yum yum yum (unlike other restaurants who were sometimes snobbish). Went to huge companies including DASH Engineering, Kyocera, Mitsumi, Sky Cable, Lexmark, PAG-ASA,PLDT Innolab, Excel Review Center, RF Review Center, Mactan Cebu Intl Airport,  MICS. And of course our trip to Cebu wouldn’t be complete without having side trips to some of the historical and tourist spots of Cebu.

My favorite place was their Basilica Del Santo Niño. The most amazing place i’ve been too. Even though it was crowded, the beauty of the place still shines through. The architecture of the church was amazing i felt like i was in Jose Rizal’s time when Spaniards still ruled our country. I was not able to take a good photo because a mass was taking place. Right outside the church was Magellan’s cross and in front of it was the City Hall.

I love Cebu because it is very rich in history and culture. Though as our tour guide told us Cebu is the safest place to be (he’s being sarcastic) and as what i have observed, they have so many tall buildings. There was this one street where you could see 7 hotels and the buildings there were very big and the architecture is just so amazing! Our tour guide also told us that Cebu is the fastest growing province here in the Philippines. They’re even extending their land with their SRP (South Road Properties), i don’t know the perfect term for this but they extended their land by covering some part of the sea. And it was huge! Huge malls are already in construction.

Actually company visits took up all of our time, of course its what we came to Cebu for. To be exposed to our field and maybe someday apply for a job. After our company visits, i would just stay inside the hotel and take some major rest instead of going out and having fun like my other classmates.

Another highlight was when we tried out kart racing. And that experience was just WOW! I want to to try it again and again :D it was my first time. Of course i was nervous at first, but after my first lap i got excited and wanted to go ahead of my classmates. Luckily no one got hurt unlike the last year’s batch.

Also my favorite was our Mactan trip. The place was much more peaceful and clean compared to the main city. Its a very historical place as you all know. Lapu-lapu is probably one of the most popular Philippine hero. It feels so great to be there.

I took a lot of photos but i can’t show them all here. Overall it was a really great experience! I miss it already. Though i’m probably going back there for my review. I’ll surely go to those places that i was not able to visit. I would like to thank the agency that is responsible for this amazing experience and making this trip possible “World of Adventures Travel and Tours” and of course, to our very funny tour guide who entertained us with his out of this world jokes and taught us a lot about Cebu “Kuya Renz”.

Now that its over, i’m back to reality. School, exams, quizzes and most of all REQUIREMENTS! Hope i’ll be able to get through all of them, good luck to me!

More Photos!  :heart

And oh btw! i bought my own guitar! yeah bought it from Mactan for 1200 php and was finally able to go to a Forever 21 store and bought shoes, they were on sale. Lucky! I’ll be posting some pics soon :)

Cebu sounds like it has a really grand and rich culture. I wanna go there one day! And it looks like it’s better than Manila. Less pollution, etc. And the sky looks really clear in the picture ^^

Yay for your trip! Those are indeed awesome companies. I wish I’ll experience going to Cebu too because I really have been hearing they’ve got awesome places. On another note, nice photos <3 And yay for your new guitar as well. I'm sure you'll love it <3 The learning process of playing the guitar is partly hurtful for the fingers too (I learned the hard way lol). I haven't bought anything from Forever21 :) ) Funny, it's near our place but I never really shop. Maybe someday :) Oh btw, imma link you now!

reading your post made me remember my vacation in the Philippines last year. I stayed in Cebu for a long time and it was just the most amazing thing ever. I love Cebu so much. Although, I planned on buying a guitar as well, but I wouldn’t know how to carry everything back to here. My family lives there, so I guess I’m practically from there too. I’m glad you enjoyed your stay there.

and wow! it was a school trip? that’s more fun! <3

Ahh, Cebu :) I agree sis, ang ganda ng city. Na-preserve talaga yung historical places & stuffs ng Philippines. The only thing I hate there is the weather na soooobrang init and also yung hindi nila organized na cable ng kuryente. But I really love Cebu. Hope I can visit again soon.

Great photos sis! sayang at hindi ka naka-attend ng workshop.

I want to go to Cebu too but my parents won’t allow me to go there. I wanna go there to experience how it is to live on my own, find a job and become independent. Unfortunately, it has been always an issue between me and my parents. Good thing you have fun sis! Never experienced such educational tour when I was still in college. Good for you! And nice you were able to shop at F21. My close friend ann who’s working in Cebu mentioned to me once that indeed F21 is in Cebu already. ;)

Your shots are epic, at tlgang may tour guide pa kayo. Dpat lang tlgang maging aliw ang mga tour guides. Boring if plain discussion lang eh.
