Happy?

Hi guys! So what’s new? Well my sister bought her DSLR last Saturday! Yay? You know me, i’ve been wanting to have a camera like this since I got so addicted with photography. I consider myself as a frustrated photographer  :D . Sister bought Nikon 5100d.

I should be happy right? But somehow i was not that happy, imagine spending 40k+ on a single camera? That’s her almost 4 months savings, my sister’s a nurse by the way not regular yet. I know buying a DSLR was her purpose on saving money but somehow it doesn’t feel right. She owns the iphone on the picture too, see? That sums up to 50k+.

But why am i worrying this much? Its not my money anyways, now i can’t imagine myself when i finally get to receive that first salary or save a decent amount of money. I think i’ll be having a very difficult job on deciding whether to spend the money or not. I know its money, its supposed to be spent not to be kept.

How about you guys? Ever felt the same way as i am feeling right now? lol

I think it’s OK to spend money on stuff like that esp if your sister really likes it ^ ^ It’s nice to spend your own hard-earned money with things that you love rather than spend it to food, clothes and whatnot. It’s not that I am saying that foods and the like are not important but it is nice to look for the things that you know you bought with own money such an investment ^ ^ But on the other side, she should rather buy DSLR which costs less than 40k if she will just use it for personal use and then save the rest … That’s my opinion but in the end it’s still up to her what to do with her own money :) xoxo

maybe she really love gadgets kaya kahit mahal na halos 4 months savings na niya go pa rin siya.. i know a lot of people but we can’t blame them, sila naman din naghirap to earn that money. maybe they but something really expensive to reward themselves for working hard

Hmm yes. I feel that when I buy too much clothes. I love buying clothes kasi… and then when I bought a lot, and put it in my closet, wala ng space! haha! and then i will feel a lot of guilt about it! Hayzzz.. kaya sometimes when I go home I don’t pass by Landmark or Glorietta, because I know when I go out, I’d be empty handed haha.. But I’ve been really doing a good job resisting to buy stuff… although I want to.. hehe… hirap lang tlga maging Impulsive buyer. :(

I know how you feel, but sometimes we just really spend money on things we really want. I love nail polishes and make ups, so I just keep on buying thou I don’t really use them that much. it’s such an addiction, but I think it’s worth coz it makes me happy :)

i always abide by my rule na:
aanhin mo ang pera kung nkatiwangwang lang sa savings account.

money comes and goes. so, as much as it is still with you, you should be able to use it worthwhile. kesa naman, manakaw sau. you just dont know diba. might as well, gnastos. at naging masaya ka pa sa binili mo. :D

I think you’re not just comfortable in the thought of spending that much money in one go, especially if it’s really not that necesarry. For me, I’d love to have my own dlsr too, but I’d probably just buy a second-hand one instead or one with a really great discount. I’d be willing to spend 40 thou for a laptop I guess, but no matter how much I love photography, 40 thou for a dlsr won’t just make the cut for me. LOL I think I turned stingy since I got a job. X3

Maybe you just feel the same way too. Personally I prefer to spend a lil bit of my money and save the rest, Because you never know when you’ll actually need it right? It’s better to have something for emergencies. (Kay. I think I got carried away and started rambling.Sorry about that. T^T)

By the way sis, I work as a layout artist. ^^ I had my OJT in a Finance Corp and I don’t think I’d enjoy works like that (yeah, I guess I’m too idealistic X3).

Chibi would love to own a DSLR too, but most of her savings goes to filling more novels on her bookshelves (^-^) Yea, saving up money for one single goal is one thing, but the uneasy feeling after spending it all at once is another thing too…

Ganun din naiisip ko Sis. Sa panahon kasi ngayon dapat practical ka. Pero kung kaya naman and mahalaga sayo yung bibilin mo, okay lang siguro. Grabe kasi price ng mga gadgets ngayon. -_____- I wish I can buy an iPhone4.

Hmm. I guess you’ll understand how your sister feels when you eventually start earning your own money.:) Sometimes, it feels good to buy something you want after really saving up for it.:)

Yay for NIKON! :) I’m very proud that I am a nikon user. You’ll never regret it sis you know. Spending money on things you wanted the most is worth it. Yes it may cost a lot and give you worries and sometimes regret, but as long as you’ve waited for it, you’ll be happy :) Ganyan din naramdaman ko noon when I got my dslr, pinag-ipunan ko yung half and yung iba hinandle ng parents ko. I ended up happy naman sis, kahit naubos yung ipon ko. Hope you’ll enjoy the new camera!

I am using canon, but I wasn’t able to explore it yet. I want to be a photographer, yes, but I don’t know why I can’t take amazing photos like the others can. Anyway, it is expensive but I guess if people really think twice before buying what they need then that would be totally fine. Besides, if it’s worth it, then go! At least you have something to look forward to and you having something you aim to have. :)

Haha I’m a pretty frustrated photographer as well. But I don’t really think that I would be able to use a DLSR fully. So I’m pretty set with just having a digicam.:)

Yea, 50k really is too much. I guess that is because you know how hard she works for it that you feel bad about her wasting her money on just a camera.

As for me, I’ve never really thought of feeling bad about money. I know, I shouldn’t be like that. But I just couldn’t help it. :( I suck at budgeting and saving.

Well yeah, it’s quite expensive but I think it’s worth it if she’ll explore the camera.

Wow tibay nya. Ipon nya for 4 months, sa slr napunta. haha. Well sulit naman yan kung talagang kakaririn nya ang photography. Gamitin nya ng gamitin. hahahaha. Nikon is the best! :) )

Ako wala akong prob pagdating sa money-related decision making. I can prioritize my needs than wants. :) kaya wala akong nabibiling wants. hahahaha.

For me it’s okay to spend on something you really work hard for it. Just always think twice before spending it, (1) if it’s really worth it (2) if you really need it, if the answers are yes then why not spend right?
